Jul22493 21. Lara Van Audenhove founded Frenzie Weddings & Events a few months after losing her mum, her mission being to help people live their life under their terms. Located in Belgium, the business has become a go-to wedding planner and stylist for couples “who want to focus on themselves, their own identities, who love colour, and to think outside of the box”. In light of her win within the Benelux Enterprise Awards 2025, we speak to Lara to learn more about her award-winning offering. “I’m not your person if you want a beige, eucalyptus wedding," Lara begins. “I want to be challenged to add colour, to add small details to your day that represent you as a couple, to make sure you live the best day of your life. Life is too short for copy and paste, for the easy option. I do whatever makes you happy, whatever you want. I would go above and beyond to realise this for my clients, even if it might mean that my profit is a bit less in the end. I’m doing what I do because I love doing it and I love doing it for my clients.” She continues, “People from Flanders, the region I work in, are very modest and stick to expectations and what is ‘usually known’. I hope to inspire people to think bigger – You do you.” In response to her vibrant and dedicated approach to wedding planning and styling, Lara receives a lot of glowing feedback from her clients. They praise her for her very personal approach, which she views as a crucial part of her role due to a couple’s wedding day being one of the most beautiful days of their lives. She becomes their partner, taking away any troubles, sorrow, or doubts that they may be experiencing around their big day. She strives to listen and get to know them and incorporate the fine details – and she never makes or books anything unless the couple are 100% satisfied. She also finds that a lot of suppliers, such as photographers and vendors, compliment her on doing things differently to other planners and stylists – for choosing to weave colour in and go outside of what is usually considered the norm. As of the current wedding season, Lara has moved more towards custom-made items so she can really tailor her offering to the couple. “Of course, I always work with external vendors for flowers, furniture, et cetera, but for styling elements, I’m more and more looking for people who can help me make something special. It’s by doing so, that you can really stand out. You don’t want the guests of your wedding or event to arrive and think ‘I’ve seen this before’. I have a feeling this happens a lot these days. It’s the easy option, but why go for easy?” Next to her wedding and event planning and styling, Lara is in the process of branching Frenzie out into a unique brand and creative studio, Frenzie Styles. She wants to move into creating special items and installations for brands, companies, interior architects, PR agencies, and more, all to reflect their identity in her pieces. “At the moment, this is a work in progress – especially in my head,” she says. “But it shows the ambitions I have with Frenzie and the brand I’ve built to this day.” As our conversation comes to a close, Lara says, “I’ve never had an example or support in becoming independent, so it’s a slow process. I’m still doing Frenzie on the side, but every day, I’m dreaming a bit more of building this colourful brand and creative studio. I’m Frenzie and Frenzie is me. So, it’s also a process of really becoming who I actually am and who I want to be in the future. I always do what feels right for me, not what is right when I look at the numbers. Every year, I’ve had more clients and more revenue, without focusing on it. Clients are finding me without using any sales tools, and not even a lot of social media posting – I'm working on that. That’s my biggest motivation to keep doing what I do. People who find me really want to work with me because of what I do and how I do it. “Even though my business is still small, it’s growing.
