Offering tailored leadership development solutions for businesses, MadeYou Ltd was founded in 2014 to support businesses in transforming their leaders and managers through the power of training and coaching. The leadership training courses delivered by this Malta-based company have been meticulously designed to be fun, engaging, and interactive – all whilst instilling the key learnings it takes to nurture lasting change. We caught up with Luke Todd, MadeYou’s award-winning CEO, for more. Over the years, Luke Todd has developed a successful career on the back of a strong desire to grow in terms of both knowledge and reputation. This future CEO’s first management role was in a betting shop, before he moved to an office environment leading the debt collection team of a UK-based utilities company. These experiences paved the way for a handful of other roles where Luke’s responsibilities expanded to include sales, design, marketing, and more, including C-suite-level positions for international organisations. Bringing this expertise to MadeYou, Luke is fascinated by the process of discovering new ways to maximise budget and efficiency across this operation, including deciding where to allocate funds and how to maximise returns. His experience across many disciplines has proven invaluable in sifting through the mental chaos that being a CEO brings, and Luke is forever grateful to have a great team around him for support. Together, this company’s team ensure they add maximum value to their clients’ businesses. When approaching new clients, MadeYou refuses the hard sell, which Luke believes does a disservice to a multistage process that involves understanding a business, its challenges, what it does that works, and what perhaps does not work so well. The most important question asked is what will the business look like once Luke and co. pull back? This goes back to Luke’s days working part time for a UK electrical retailer, where his aim was always to find the right product for that particular customer for a specific situation. “I want to be their external partner, not a business they contract in to do the work.” Offering this level of value to clients in an industry where AI is changing everything is tough, but Luke recognises that the need for emotional intelligence is perhaps greater than ever as a result of this technology. Firm in the belief that the best way to support these leaders is to facilitate their development, MadeYou combines new technologies with a human element to drive success. The level of success the company strives for can only be achieved by maximising people, people who, in turn, maximise their business. This novel approach sets MadeYou apart in the training industry, where countless organisations are still delivering an outdated style of training, colloquially referred to as ‘death by PowerPoint’. However, on the other end of the spectrum, the coaching industry is become increasingly saturated, with record numbers of people leaving their careers and becoming specialist coaches. Bridging the gap between these areas with its corporate training focused on employee engagement and ROI, MadeYou is just beginning. The second half of 2025 and the first half of 2026 will see MadeYou develop its Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) offering, which sees DEIB workshops to build inclusive workplace cultures delivered to its clients. Another initiative in the pipeline is seeing the company expand its training through a new C-level development programme – aligned with the Mattone Group’s Intelligent Leadership ethos – alongside the company doubling down on its already successful employer branding strategy. As for his own career, Luke explained: “My team and I are hugely invested in our personal development and growth, which can support expanding our business service offering. So, all of us will be learning new skills, ready for a suite of new offerings.” This represents a cornerstone of Luke’s leadership strategy, which sees him balance between a democratic, coaching, and facilitative CEO, trusting his teams to get on with their work whilst remaining close by for support, guidance, and occasionally a bit of cheerleading. Ultimately, by striking a perfect balance between quirkiness and loyalty, MadeYou Ltd goes beyond delivering a service to act as a full leadership development team for its clients. The feedback the team often receive from clients highlights how hours of stimulating training just flew by, with the company’s following up on every course ensuring the knowledge learnt remains put into practice. None of this would be made possible without Luke Todd, the CEO setting the standard for talent development leadership in this space.
