Jul22493 15. Powering some of the most advanced mobility operations in Europe, from major metropolitan areas to rural regions, fms/Austrosoft’s technology connects all participants in the mobility process anytime, anywhere, and through any channel. At the helm of this leading company stands Robert Abel-Hrdlicka, a seasoned CEO leveraging whose demonstrated history of success within the mobility industry has earned him recognition in the European CEO of the Year Awards 2026. fms/Austrosoft is a privately-owned technology group providing software, hardware, operations, consulting, and world-class support to the mobility industry. With more than 40 years of experience under its belt, the company combines deep industry expertise with a strong focus on innovation and long-term customer partnerships. Today, its solutions support more than 200 taxi and mobility centres across nine countries, connecting approximately 50,000 vehicles and 200,000 drivers and processing around 200 million dispatches every year. In recent years, fms/Austrosoft has set out to refocus its operations around the changing requirements of both the mobility and technology sectors. This successful transformation has included platform-based business models, mobile apps, network partnerships, new digital channels, and, increasingly, the application of artificial intelligence. Steered by CEO Robert AbelHrdlicka, this transformation was driven by the belief that technology must not simply be advanced, but solve real operational problems and create measurable value. Robert’s journey to becoming the CEO of fms/ Austrosoft is one shaped by more than three decades of entrepreneurship, technology, and transformation across the telecommunications and mobile industries. Robert graduated from the University of Applied Sciences for Management and Communications in Vienna, though he asserts that much of his development as a leader has come from building businesses, developing products, working closely with customers and partners, and taking responsibility for strategic decisions in rapidly changing markets. Throughout his career, the CEO has worked at the intersection of technology and business, with a particular focus on mobility services, mobile technologies, product management, payments, and business strategy. This position has provided Robert with the opportunity to not only experience major technological shifts, but to understand how companies need to adapt when established markets are disrupted by new technologies and changing customer expectations. “These experiences have strongly influenced the way I lead today,” Robert told us. “I believe in understanding a business from the ground up, staying close to customers and the market, and being willing to challenge established models before external forces make change unavoidable. As CEO, my role is therefore not simply to manage the company we have today; it is to anticipate where our industry is heading, bring people behind that vision, and ensure that we continue to evolve while building on the expertise, relationships, and values that have made us successful.” In this vein, Robert invests significant time in researching the market and its technology. He has observed strong demand across Europe for solutions that combine technological innovation with local infrastructure, trusted operators, regulatory compliance, and open integration. He notes that the future of mobility will not be defined by a single technology, but by intelligent platforms that can connect different services and make mobility available when and where people actually need it. Building on this research, fms/Austrosoft now seeks to help shape the next generation of mobility in Europe. Mobility is becoming increasingly digital, automated, and datadriven, with AI, autonomous vehicles, and global platforms fundamentally changing how people move. For the team however, the key question is not simply what technology will come next, but how fms/Austrosoft can use these technologies to create better availability, stronger local mobility networks, and sustainable business models for customers. Moving forward, fms/Austrosoft is working to evolve its platforms from traditional dispatch and fleet-management systems into intelligent mobility systems and strengthen its cloud-based services. One of the main areas of priority is what the team describes as the “IQ of Mobility”, combining decades of operational mobility experience with modern technology to make better decisions in real time. These endeavours are instrumental to fms/Austrosoft’s wider mission for Europe to shape the future of mobility before it is defined by others. On a personal level, Robert wishes to contribute towards a broader discussion about Europe’s role in this transformation. “Europe has an enormous amount of mobility expertise, infrastructure, and local knowledge,” he shared. “The opportunity is to combine this strength with new technology rather than leaving the future of mobility entirely to a handful of global platforms. That is probably the most exciting project I am working on: not simply building the next software product, but helping to define what a European path into the future of mobility could look like.” Contact: Robert Abel-Hrdlicka Company: fms/Austrosoft Web Address: www.fms.at Best Mobility Platform CEO 2026 (Austria): Robert Abel-Hrdlicka & Best Taxi & Ride-Hailing Fleet Management Company 2026 – Austria Austrosoft IQ Power
