Irish Enterprise Awards 2023

22. Jan23365 JM Energy Savings Ltd has been saving money for residents, farming communities, and businesses throughout Ireland since 2008 – by helping customers switch electricity and gas providers. We learn a little more about the firm, and the services it provides to its customers, as it is named in the Irish Enterprise Awards 2023. John Moynihan, the owner of JM Energy Savings, started out in electricity and energy sales more than 21 years ago. Back in 2008, he started his own company to offer cheaper and more effective solutions for domestic and agricultural energy customers. Then in 2015, John diversified and started selling solar systems. He started at first with solar thermal and in 2019 began selling solar PV exclusively. In 2021, John set up his own team to install systems for his customers. “Since 2022, the team here at JM Energy Savings has gone from strength-tostrength,” he explains. “We have two dedicated teams of installers, that consist of professional qualified roofers and SEAI registered electricians.” The firm now offers solar PV panels for residential, commercial and farms to generate their own power with the latest generation solar PV panels – an environmentally friendly tool for saving money and reducing energy costs. It also continues to offer the energy management side of the business in order to help customers keep their electric energy costs as low as possible. With an office based in Ballingeary, County Cork, and a small team here that analyses the bills and the changing rates on the Irish market, the company can also help customers with any queries they may have regarding their accounts. “We put a strong emphasis on being clear, concise, and transparent in all our work,” elaborates John. “Whether that be solar PV or electricity management. We speak to our customers in a way that everyone can understand, and we pride ourselves on our service – we’ve had some of the same customers for over 20 years!” This is the key to JM Energy Saving’s success, and what makes it stand out from competitors in such a saturated marketplace. “We explain the system installation from start to finish, in terms that they can understand,” he adds. “We are clear and transparent with everything, and we are always honest. We also use the best quality products, that we buy from a local trusted supplier. This means we can always stand over our warranty should any problems arise. “We try to not keep our customers waiting for a long period of time from sign up to install, and we provide them with all the help they need to apply for their grant. We then do all the work for them so they don't have to worry about a thing, and they know they are in capable hands.” With the constant increase in electricity prices, John and the team have found that customers are on the lookout for ways to reduce their bills as much as possible. Solar PV, he tells us, is the perfect way to do this as, on a south facing roof in Ireland, if you have a 4Kw system (which is a 10-panel system) the average client can expect to produce more than 3,500KwH of electricity. Ireland is a great country for solar PV, because of the optimal temperature for the panels being 25°C, any temperature below that actually increases the efficiency of the panels. John also insists on staying ahead of the curve and at the forefront of the latest technology, as and when it is released. “We are always researching products here at JM Energy Savings,” he enthuses. “We stive to always get the most efficient panels and inverters for our customers with the highest output so our customers get more bang for their buck.” Recently, as reward for the dedication to customers and commitment to saving energy, JM Energy Savings was recognised in the Irish Enterprise Awards 2023 and named Best Solar PV Services Provider 2023 – South West Ireland. Understandably delighted by this prestigious accolade, John is now looking forward to a sustainably bright Best Solar PV Services Provider 2023 – South West Ireland future helping hundreds more to save money on their energy bills. “We are currently in the process of expanding our team further,” he states. “We plan on having a dedicated team for the commercial jobs we have coming in, as well as larger scale agricultural systems. Especially those that may need the help with government grants and processes.” Contact: John Moynihan Company: JM Energy Savings Ltd Web Address: https://jmenergy.ie/
