Irish Enterprise Awards 2026 Data Centre Fitout Construction Specialists 2026 An international construction group operating in Ireland, the UK, and across mainland Europe, KM Lynskey Group’s business comprises two primary sections – the first sees it serve as a principal contractor across Irish residential and commercial builds alike, whilst the other sees it stand as a fitout specialist for data centres and other such projects. It is this second area in particular that has resulted in its team being recognised in this programme, and on the back of this, we had the opportunity to catch up with KM Lynskey’s MD, Kieran Lynskey, for more on this work. Since it was established in 2009, KM Lynskey’s mission has been to help create the spaces where people live, work, learn, relax, and socialise, delivering projects of a premium standard for clients – safely, on time, and within budget. The goal across every build is seamless integration, creating new spaces that unlock potential and put clients within reach of their aims. At the heart of this people-centred work are the open, honest, supportive relationships fostered, which encourage KM Lynskey to be the best in its field. To achieve this ambitious goal, the company simply employs the best people the industry has to offer – providing them with the tools, technology, and environment to grow, develop, and become even better. This results in a service and solutions which are consistently touted as leading the industry, especially when it comes to its work with data centres. Whilst working in this space makes the company subject to strong NDAs, the fact that it is continuously being recommended for new projects is a testament to its quality. Discussing this in more detail, Kieran told us: “Quality and consistency are key drivers of our growth as we ensure we make the journey as smooth as possible for our customers. Such streamlined efficiency has seen a high growth in our data centre fitout projects as we meet the brief of the customer by being adaptable, efficient, and reliable with our approach to their work programmes. This has seen us branch out from Germany into Belgium, the Netherlands, and Denmark in 2025, with many clients seeking repeat business.” Although it has completed data centre projects everywhere from Germany to Sweden, KM Lynskey continues to carry out more than its fair share of work in Ireland, with data centres having been constructed across such major hubs as Dublin and Clonee, to name just a couple. Often, these builds involve supply and installation across all ceilings and partitions, as well as introducing HAC, a cooling strategy that separates the hot air provided by the exhaust from the cold intake air, boosting cooling efficiency and slashing cost. Outside of this, a lot of the project work KM Lynskey does in Ireland is for governmental sectors, and although these groups again do not provide testimonials – to avoid preferential treatment – the strength of the company’s work is again clear to see, especially in the Trim Library project it completed in 2024. An area of 1,162m2 spanning three storeys, the contracting team here carried out everything from demolition works to refurbishment and building new facilities, including a reception and a theatre space. Winning in one category in the RIAI Architecture Awards and being shortlisted for another, this project has been incredibly well received by the community, and today serves as a particularly bright spot across the company’s diverse portfolio. And ‘diverse’ is the operative word here, with other contracting projects ranging from work at a Jaguar Land Rover garage in Kildare, where the team renovated and rebranded an existing warehouse building, through to local nursing homes, housing projects, education centres, and more. All of this highlights the significant growth journey that KM Lynskey has been on over the last 16 years, going from a small business in Ireland to one with an international presence and around 200 staff employed directly and up to 400 staff on the books as contractors. Looking back on this tremendous growth, Kieran attributes it to a combination of continuous improvement across its systems and processes, a focus on additional learning and training, seeking the best partners, and always welcoming a challenge.
