The Managing Director Awards 2026 The story of PERI Hellas & Cyprus began with PERI, one of the largest manufacturers of formwork and scaffolding in the world. The family-owned company was founded in 1969 by Artur and Christl Schwörer in Weißenhorn, Germany. Over the decades, the husband and wife evolved PERI to stand as an industry leader, with more than 160 warehouses and over 60 subsidiaries worldwide, including PERI Hellas & Cyprus. PERI Hellas was established in 1999, and its headquarters and main warehouse are in Koropi, Greece. In 2023, PERI Cyprus was founded as a branch, marking the company’s expansion into the Cypriot market. As the business continued to grow, additional warehouses established across cities in both Greece and Cyprus, ensuring enhanced service and support for its customers. At its core, PERI Hellas & Cyprus is committed to making the construction process faster, more efficient, and safer, in full alignment with PERI’s global mission. The team’s primary goal is to provide customers with formwork and scaffolding systems that are not only efficient and safe but also possess the right techno-economic solutions for their unique requirements. This mission is reinforced by Managing Director, Christos Chaidemenos, who has demonstrated a history of success in the Greek construction industry, built on invaluable experience. Christos studied civil engineering at the Democritus University of Thrace in Greece, specialising in structural engineering. He embarked on his professional journey in 1995, beginning his career as a design engineer for a consulting firm specialising in structural studies. Shortly thereafter, he Formwork & Scaffolding Systems MD of the Year 2026 (Mediterranean): Christos Chaidemenos Operating under the PERI Group, PERI Hellas & Cyprus is a trusted partner to the construction industry. The company is steered by Managing Director Christos Chaidemenos, a strong business development professional who has built a successful career around strategy, leadership, and putting people first. Christos has been recognised in The Managing Director Awards 2026 for his exceptional leadership capabilities and commitment to guiding his team with compassion, understanding, and respect. We spoke with Christos to find out more below. established his own technical office that allowed him to focus on the design and construction of small residential buildings. In 1999, PERI Hellas & Cyprus sought out to find a partner located in Northern Greece, specifically in Thessaloniki. Christos was living in Thessaloniki at the time and came into contact with the company. Following communication, he agreed to take on the role of Sales Engineer, making him responsible for PERI’s products within Northern Greece. Christos’ professional career took another exciting pivot in 2013, when PERI’s management offered him the position of General Manager of its subsidiary in Greece and Cyprus. This new role demonstrated the unwavering trust he had earned in just over a decade, particularly as Greece was facing a challenging period of deep economic crisis, with the construction industry severely impacted. “Upon assuming the role, my first priority was to do everything possible to ensure that all PERI employees felt secure about the future,” Christos recalled. “After all, it was with these same people that we would need to rebuild. We needed a solid and future-proof plan for the company.” It was during these difficult times that Christos discovered his passion for strategy and leadership. Through determination and hard work, he learned that every challenge is a hidden opportunity for growth and improvement. Over the years, this experience was translated into the ability to deeply analyse each problem, playing an instrumental role in successfully developing the ongoing strategy of PERI Hellas’ operations. When leading a team and working towards a goal, it is important to have a solid plan established. However, Christos has learned through the years that the most important element of a plan is the people. He places great emphasis on connecting with his team through his daily work: resolving any matter of professional and personal challenges they face, leading with an open-door policy, and always making time for everyone, regardless of their position within the company. Psychological safety is an essential element of PERI Hellas’ operations, as the most effective teams are those that can bring their mistakes to light and create appropriate preventative mechanisms. For this to happen, the right culture must exist, with each employee feeling safe and comfortable to use their voice without fear. Such a culture begins with the management team, and is a goal Christos continually works towards. “I am approachable at all levels of the organisation, and this applies not only to me but to the entire management team,” Christos told us. “Both I and the management team follow a flexible leadership approach, depending on each colleague’s level of experience and readiness. I like to delegate and I avoid getting involved in every detail; however, when needed, I am always willing to support, direct, or coach.” “It is essential to maintain communication across all levels of employees and convey the message: ‘I am here, I am aware, and I care.’” Christos is joined by an experienced management team that collectively brings
5. Formwork & Scaffolding Systems MD of the Year 2026 (Mediterranean): Christos Chaidemenos more than 120 years of experience within the PERI Group. Every day, Christos communicates with the management team to work towards resolving any immediate issues, as well as making small adjustments to the core of PERI Hellas’ strategy, which is reviewed and defined each year. A key part of reviewing the strategy is to identify the reasons why the team might fall short of expected results, alongside designing appropriate countermeasures. The main priority of this process is to ensure, through clear communication, that both the plan and roles are fully understood at all levels. From that point on, commitment to executing the plan is required, as well as a proper measurement system that provides an accurate and timely overview. After decades of working with the same individuals, the team has reached a high level of communication that, even in intense moments, translates into the attitude and intent of family. Christos has dedicated almost three decades to building this close-knit, collaborative culture across his team, and takes immense pride in the results of his work. He told us, “After 26 years with the company and 13 years in this role, I can proudly say that my greatest achievement is the team and its values.” From his early beginnings in the construction industry to his current role as Managing Director, Christos Chaidemenos has led a professional career defined by reliability, passion, open-mindedness, and transparency. He leveraged industry expertise, first-hand experience, and an unwavering passion for his field to rise the ranks, and now successfully leads a team of dynamic individuals who feel safe, supported, and satisfied in their roles. For his significant contributions to the sector, and the myriad ways in which he uplifts and empowers the PERI Hellas & Cyprus team, Christos has been rightfully recognised as the Mediterranean’s Formwork and Scaffolding Systems MD of the Year 2026. In light of Christos’ recent success, we asked the Managing Director for his parting thoughts. “If I were to summarise my entire experience and offer one piece of advice in a single sentence, I would say that the most important asset a company has – and the one it should invest in – is its people,” he shared. “This is because no matter how talented a leader may be, or how ambitious and well-designed the overall plan is, no one can execute it alone. It requires people who will understand it, believe in it, and commit to delivering it.” Contact Details Contact: Christos Chaidemenos Company: PERI Hellas & Cyprus Web Address: www.perihellas.gr
Jul22546 The Managing Director Awards 2026 ecause traditional investing platforms can often feel inaccessible and complex, 21-year-old UK fintech co-founder Matthew Sherman is creating Investwizz, a platform focused on making investing more goal-centric, transparent, and easier to understand. For many people, investing can feel difficult to approach because the language, risks and choices are not always easy to understand. Investwizz is being built to make that journey clearer, helping users explore goals, understand risk in plain English, and learn how different portfolio examples may work before deciding whether to invest real money. It does not provide personal financial advice. The idea for Investwizz began with a simple observation: many people are interested in investing, but feel put off by jargon, complex interfaces and uncertainty about where to start. Investwizz has built the platform around a simple question: how can investment education become clearer, more accessible and more useful for people planning their financial future? For Matt, the opportunity was not just to build another investing app, but to use his technical background to make investment information feel clearer, more approachable, and easier to explore. As Matt explained: “We are committed to building technology that is clear, user-focused, and easy to use.” Investwizz’s product app is designed to help users better understand investment concepts and information through clear, explainable educational insights. Matt added, “We believe financial education should not be limited to experts. Our mission is to support individuals, especially those new to investing, with clearer information as they consider their long-term financial goals.” For users, the aim is to make investing feel less like a black box. Investwizz is being designed to help people set goals, understand their comfort with risk, explore portfolio examples, and learn what different investment choices may mean over time. The platform uses AI to support clearer explanations and educational insights, while keeping the user in control of their own decisions. In his role as co-founder and Managing Director of Engineering, Matt prioritises a collaborative, hands-on style of leadership, setting clear expectations and high standards but always providing his team with the support network they need to succeed. His day to day is incredibly diverse, covering everything from multiple meetings to diving into the code, scoping out how the entire product will be engineered, and even creating full working systems through the Investwizz app. One of the key things for Matt across his role is striking a balance between structure and creativity, and he told us of the importance of AI-Powered Investments Business Leader of the Year 2026: Matthew Sherman At just 21 years old, Matthew (“Matt”) Sherman co-founded Investwizz, an AI-powered fintech platform aimed at helping make investment education more accessible, transparent, and easier to understand for everyday users across the UK. Built around smart technology, simplified investing tools, and a user-first approach, Investwizz is aiming to reshape how people learn about investing and long-term financial planning. For more on the Investwizz platform and the young pioneer behind it, we had the pleasure of catching up with Matt himself. creating an environment where team members feel confident in taking ownership of their work and deeply connected to what they do. The key to doing so is to listen, learn quickly, and build a trusted team that can grow alongside Investwizz itself. Matt surrounds himself with people who can challenge him for this reason, with continuous self improvement now being a cornerstone of Investwizz. “We are a small but highly driven team of approximately 15 people working closely across all areas of the product. We encourage ownership and accountability while supporting each other’s growth. I am personally committed to helping team members develop their skills and confidence.” Discussing his journey to this leadership position, Matt commented: “My journey into AI and engineering began with hands-on work in machine learning, specifically focusing on applying models within financial contexts. I explored machine-learning applications in financial data contexts, which provided me with a strong foundation in data-driven decision-making and real-world financial systems.” Matt’s first taste of career success came during a four-month placement in the medtech space, developing a prenatal facial recognition model at VRAIn. For Matt: “This experience furthered my technical expertise in computer vision and demonstrated the profound impact AI can have when applied to complex, real-world problems. These experiences ultimately inspired me to co-launch Investwizz, where I combine my background in AI with a mission to make investment information easier to understand.” This journey has not been without its fair share of challenges, however, as Matt has been forced to make the transition from an individual contributor to a technical co-founder building an AI investment app from the ground up. Marking a significant area of growth for Matt, who has approached this challenge as an opportunity to learn, collaborate with those more experienced, and develop leadership skills – all very early in his career. All of this fuels Matt’s overarching goal, which is to leverage his knowledge, experience, and fresh perspective as a young co-founder of a fintech start-up to expand financial literacy and make the B Contact: Matthew Sherman Company: Investwizz Web Address: https://www.investwizz.co.uk/ LinkedIn TikTok
7. investing journey easier to understand for customers - particularly in the UK, As Matt explained: “Customers do not simply want more features, they want clarity, transparency, and accessible information to help them better understand their options.” His commitment to providing tools that help people better understand their options before making financial decisions is what continues to guide both him and Investwizz itself. Importantly, regulatory compliance has been a key consideration throughout the platform’s development. Investwizz provides educational and informational tools only, does not provide personal financial advice, and is committed to communicating in a way that is clear, fair and not misleading. With Investwizz still in its beta testing phase, the main focus for Matt and the platform moving forward is clear. Moreover, this financial technology entrepreneur in the UK is also supporting his team as they continue to strengthen Investwizz’s product features and refine its AI system, all whilst developing more diverse investing styles. Longer term, the aim is to scale, build partnerships, and move ever closer to the eventual full commercial launch. On a personal level, Matt is not only focused on Investwizz’s success, but he is also in the midst of completing a BASc in artificial intelligence and data science at the Manchester Metropolitan University, where he is currently sitting on a GPA of 4.0. With the course set to conclude in July 2027, Matt is continuing to balance his responsibilities as co-founder and Managing Director of Engineering with his education and personal development. Ultimately, by helping lead Investwizz as a technical co-founder and Managing Director of Engineering, Matthew Sherman is helping shape a product intended to make investment information, educational tools and planning concepts more accessible and easier to understand for people without backgrounds in finance or technology. His presence on platforms such as TikTok, where he shares general financial education and AI concepts, further reflects his commitment to making complex topics more accessible. Recognised as the AI-Powered Investments Business Leader of the Year 2026, Matthew Sherman represents a new generation of UK fintech founders focused on using technology to make investment education easier to understand. With Matt helping drive the technical development of the platform, Investwizz aims to continue developing its platform ahead of launch, with a focus on clear information, educational tools and user-centred design. To stay up to date on all of the developments concerning the business and its platform, follow the link above, or visit Matt on LinkedIn and TikTok. The Managing Director Awards 2026 AIS-Apr26244 Human-Centred Growth: The Secret to Business Success Why businesses can succeed without human-centred growth Technology needs people. And this is what many businesses are failing to appreciate in the rush towards digital transformation. Because while artificial intelligence, automation, and all the other digital tools are proving incredibly useful for driving efficiency and productivity, they are only tools. The idea might be that they can be self-sufficient, working entirely independently to meet the needs of any given business, but the reality just doesn’t look like that. You need people to not only maximise but actually open the potential of all of these advanced technologies. When you remove people from the equation, the tech almost inevitably misses its mark. But when you take a human-centred approach to tech adoption, you experience real progress in a variety of important areas. Innovation Technology is often viewed as going hand in hand with innovation, but you need human imagination to get there. Creativity only grows where employees feel safe to question established thinking, test ideas, and approach problems from new angles. When teams operate under rigid expectations or constant pressure to conform, curiosity – or at least, the willingness to voice it – dies. Without that sense of confidence and freedom, businesses begin to lose their way because they lack both the energy and ingenuity that can drive genuine innovation. Efficiency All talk of efficiency now almost always revolves around automation and AI. And there is no doubt these technologies have transformed a whole range of business processes. But even automation depends on people. If you don’t have informed, experienced, and motivated team members who are able to identify inefficiencies, recognise opportunities for improvement, and introduce new solutions, you’ll never be able to introduce the tech you need, where you need it. When AI and automation are positioned as competition, employees begin to feel disenfranchised and reluctant to make those suggestions that could support efficiency gains. Technology and rapid digital transformation now dominate the business conversation. And with AI having such an enormous impact, it’s easy to understand why. But while there’s no getting away from the potential that tech currently offers, businesses are beginning to make a serious mistake in overlooking the power of people. Without people, innovation simply can’t exist, and the companies that seek to grow without that human focus at their core are preparing themselves for failure. Transformation Business transformation is typically driven by technological change. But you need people to support that. When organisations approach transformation with a focus on inclusion, support, and education, employees become advocates, rather than reluctant adoptees, complaining about the change. Scaling We’ve all heard the conversation about tech being the solution for peopleless growth. But we’re also increasingly hearing stories about how this approach has failed. The best way to use tech to facilitate growth is to use it in ways that it can support your people. Whether that’s enhancing the performance of individuals or increasing the capabilities of entire teams, the aim is to help them to do more. Not to threaten them with obsolescence. Because when employees feel secure in their roles, they are far more willing to contribute ideas and support growth. The principles of human-centred growth At the core of human-centred growth is connection. If you want your teams to be committed, you must genuinely engage with your employees. That doesn’t mean memorising names and faces, but being open to regular interaction. The days of the hierarchical, closed-door approach are over. All leadership members need to be approachable and willing to listen to and learn from their teams. When employees feel heard and recognised, they begin to feel valued, and that sense of value strengthens loyalty and engagement. Communication is equally important. All people really want from their managers is clarity, honesty, and acknowledgement. They want someone who says “well done” and acknowledges when a task is a big ask. And when leaders consistently demonstrate appreciation for the work their teams do, they reinforce each person’s sense of purpose and contribution. Why people matter It is easy to understand why technology is capturing so much attention right now. It’s new and exciting, and tools like AI, automation, and biotechnology hold By Andrew Chancellor, CEO of Wellbeing International Foundation a regenerative medicine organisation focused on responsible innovation and evidence based biologics. With a career spanning banking, international executive recruitment, and nearly a decade in bioscience leadership, he brings a people centred approach to science driven healthcare.
Human-Centred Growth: The Secret to Business Success such enormous potential to change the way we work and live. But we also have to acknowledge that in all this rapturous appreciation, we’re at risk of undervaluing and undermining our teams. Employees increasingly feel uncertain about their future, aware that job security is no longer guaranteed. And that uncertainty can easily lead to disengagement or loss of loyalty. And that matters, because despite all the technological breakthroughs, businesses still rely on people to bring the uniquely human qualities they need to thrive. Not just empathy, but judgement, and contextual understanding. And these qualities are impossible to automate. Technology is absolutely, undeniably essential to modern business. But people are what make technology valuable. And it’s the businesses that recognise this, and invest in human-centred growth, that will gain the advantage going forward.
The Managing Director Awards 2026 Amusement Parks MD of the Year 2026 (Poland): Zaneta Gutowska-Rukszan Majaland is a family‑focused theme park brand operated by Momentum Leisure, itself a leader in world-class amusement parks across Central and Eastern Europe. Three locations comprise the Majaland Family, with one in each of Warsaw, Kownaty, and Gdańsk, respectively. Zaneta GutowskaRukszan has been the managing director of Majaland since 2024 and with the brand since 2022, and caught up with her following this recognition here in our coveted Managing Director Awards 2026. A series of popular, family-friendly amusement parks in Poland, Majaland offers a range of indoor and outdoor attractions, and is famous for characters like Maya the Bee and Vicky the Viking, in addition to collaborations with international franchises like SpongeBob and the Smurfs. The result is year-round entertainment from over 75 attractions spread across its three locations, including rollercoasters, playgrounds, water zones, and more. Bringing joy to children and adults alike across Poland, Majaland has achieved some remarkable feats over the last few months alone, including work on its new theme park in Gliwice and officially joining the Netherlands-Polish Chamber of Commerce. All of this has taken place alongside an underlying focus on refining the offerings at its existing parks, such as the opening of a Smurf-themed birthday room at its location in Gdańsk, on the back of the successful launch of its Smurf Pizza Corner at the same park the year before. This is all just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Majaland’s three Polish theme parks, which also offer a number of exciting events on key dates throughout the year, including opportunities to watch performance, meet characters, and event learn about the natural world through workshops and activities. At Christmas time, these parks even transform into magic lands full of lights, decorations, and themed attractions, making Majaland great for school trips, group visits, family days out, and pretty much anything else in between. “Where the world of fairytales becomes reality.” Beginning her career in engineering and automotive roles, Majaland’s future MD Zaneta Gutowska-Rukszan settled into HR-related positions, spending nearly 15 years as a director across two companies in Poland, before making the jump over to Majaland in 2022. After 18 months spent doing what she knew best – HR – Zaneta was promoted to the co-CEO for a short time. She quickly pivoted to managing director and board member eight months later, and has occupied both of these roles for two years. Zaneta’s tenure with Majaland has aligned with the brand successfully executing a number of growth and transformation strategies, and this is no coincidence. Across her role at the head of the parks, Zaneta delivers purpose, people, and long-term value, beginning with a focus on her team and employing the same hands-on approach across everything from setting the vision to establishing the culture. At every turn., Zaneta can be found using the insights gained across her diverse career to help drive success. Her HR experience has been especially useful in developing Zaneta into the leader she is today, as she explained: “Working in HR allowed me to better understand talent development, leadership, organisational culture, and change management. It also helped me see how strongly business results are linked to employee engagement, trust, and clear communication.” This is amplified in a business like Majaland, where striking a balance between operational detail and humanity is key given the sector it operates in. “Growth is not only measured by new locations, but by the strength of our teams, leadership development, and the consistency of the guest experience.” With growth on the cards, the bright future Majaland has ahead of it is certainly linked to the diverse expertise and dynamic approach of its managing director. Utilising her HR background to deliver a peoplecentred approach, Zaneta Gutowska-Rukszan is helping to deliver expansion, yes, but what is more impressive is that she is building a resilient, values-driven brand for Momentum Leisure, supported at every turn by strong teams, clear principles, and a commitment to setting the standard for theme park quality. Named the Amusement Parks MD of the Year 2026 (Poland) for the fantastic work she is doing across the Majaland brand, we are delighted to feature Zaneta with a place in this programme. More on her impact can be found not only in every great customer experience delivered across the three parks, but also on the both Majaland website listed below and her LinkedIn profile, the latter of which can be found here. Jul22493 11. Since its inception in 2024, Behavioral Analysis Lab International has provided structured programs, professional certifications, and consulting solutions that transform the way people see, hear, and understand human behavior. The company is on a mission steered by Founder and Managing Director Nikolas Fragkias, who has dedicated more than two decades to driving sustainable change and strengthening trust, decision quality, and human connection. We heard more from Nikolas below, as he is named in The Managing Director Awards 2026. Behavioral Analysis Lab International, or B.A.L.I., is a pioneering institute dedicated to the development and application of behavioral intelligence across therapeutic, corporate, and professional environments. The platform specializes in Applied Behavioral Intelligence, a multidisciplinary framework that integrates behavioral analysis, cognitive science, and systemic psychology. Its work focuses on decoding behavior, identifying patterns, and designing interventions that create sustainable change. “What drives our business forward is a single idea: human behavior is predictable, readable, and transformable when approached with the right methodology,” said Nikolas. “We serve a diverse clientele, from multinational corporations and government-related sectors to therapists, coaches, and highperformance professionals. Everything we do is designed to turn behavioral insight into strategic advantage and personal evolution.” Nikolas Fragkias is the Founder, Managing Director, and Scientific Director of Behavioral Analysis Lab International. As a Behavioral Systems Architect, Psychotherapist, and Behavioral Strategy Expert, Nikolas specializes in the ways in which behavior is formed, interpreted, and changed across individuals and systems. Nikolas’ journey to leadership has been non-linear by design. The professional hails from a background that combines corporate leadership – including roles in sales, operations, and as a HR Director – with more than 25 years in psychotherapy and behavioral analysis. This dual exposure opened Nikolas’ eyes to a critical fact: the same psychological patterns that affect individuals also drive organizations. Leveraging this understanding, Nikolas has played a key role in supporting both individuals and organizations operating in complex environments. He does not set out to control the system as Managing Director, but rather to orchestrate intelligence within it. He pursues structural reorganization over temporary change, delivering solutions that integrate clinical and applied psychology, behavioral analysis and profiling, systemic and Jungian frameworks, advanced communication models, and experiential and embodied methodologies. The integration of these advanced specialisms has led Nikolas to develop the Dynamic Equilibrium System, a framework for personal, organizational, and systemic transformation. It integrates various techniques such as Clean Language, Provocative approach, and Systemic Coaching Techniques to facilitate individual or systemic rebirth, evolution, and growth. A balance between structure and adaptability, the Dynamic Equilibrium System is a framework that Nikolas asserts to have saved his life. He lives each day guided by this concept, beginning with alignment: practicing awareness for mental clarity, utilizing somatic approaches for physical grounding, and categorizing his duties into Urgent and Important to promote strategic prioritization. A second core ethos that guides Nikolas in his role is his belief in behavioral alignment over hierarchal leadership. When steering his team, the Managing Director ensures alignment by prioritizing clear strategic intent, continuous feedback loops, and behavioral calibration. This approach allows every member of the B.A.L.I. team to operate in complete cohesion, always working towards creating sustainable change for individuals and systems alike. “When it comes to communication, the most important element is shared meaning, not just shared language,” he told us. “For me, success is not about everyone agreeing; it is about everyone moving in the same direction with awareness.” Looking to the future, B.A.L.I. is entering a phase of expansion and institutionalization. The team’s goals for the future include scaling the business globally, establishing certification standards in Applied Behavioral Intelligence, expanding into governmental and high-security consulting sectors, and integrating its work with emerging fields such as AI-human interaction and psychedelicassisted therapy frameworks. As for Nikolas himself, the Managing Director named Applied Behavioural Intelligence Consulting MD of the Year 2026 is personally working on a number of forward-looking projects. Over the next year, Nikolas will be focusing on publishing advanced models in behavioral science, expanding training programs and consultancy on an international scale, and developing a unified system that bridges clinical, corporate, and intelligence applications. “We are entering an era where understanding human behavior is no longer optional, but foundational,” Nikolas concluded. “At Behavioral Analysis Lab International, we are not just training professionals. We are shaping a new category called the Applied Behavioral Intelligence Experts, and it is about better decisions, ethical influence, deeper human understanding, and, ultimately, more conscious leadership. “This award is not just recognition of past work; it is a signal of where the field is going.” Company: Behavioral Analysis Lab International Web Address: www.behavioralanalysislab.com Applied Behavioural Intelligence Consulting MD of the Year 2026: Nikolas Fragkias
