In the fast-paced world of network cabling systems, businesses are seeking a reliable partner that can not only deliver products but also create value within their development project through knowledge, certification, documentation, and close dialogue. Danish system house Lan-Com A/S shines in this respect, structuring its approach to project development around maintaining high-quality, reliability, and delivering solutions that keep each project on track. As Lan-Com A/S is recognised for its endeavours in the Scandinavian Business Awards 2026, we learned more from Founder Flemming Seerup below.

Based in Smørum, Lan-Com A/S is a leading specialist in network cabling and project development. Since its inception, the company has aspired to become the partner that electrical installers and consulting engineers can rely upon when delivering reliable cable systems for projects large and small.

Lan-Com A/S was established in 1991 by Flemming Seerup, who has operated the company for more than three decades. Flemming hails from a business education earned at Copenhagen Business School, gaining experience as Product Manager for networking cabling products at an SMV company in the industry.

When Flemming first established Lan-Com A/S, it began as a traditional agent-based company that specialised in networking products for the Danish industry. Despite its focus, the company did not align with product demand in the USA – which was not necessarily the same as in Scandinavia – and ultimately did not succeed in the Danish market.

In 2014, Lan-Com A/S made a strategic pivot, deciding to develop its own private-label products by leveraging invaluable knowledge gained over 25 years of market navigation. The company introduced Giga-Lan, Lan-Optic, Lan-Rack, Power-Lan, and Sig-Lan to the market, and has since experienced a growth rate that ranges from 15 to 40% each year.

Over the last fiscal year, Lan-Com A/S has seen a growth of more than 100% in turnover, alongside tripled revenue. Such strong financial performance demonstrates the market success that has stemmed from the company’s new direction, reinforcing this pivot as a crucial component of Lan-Com A/S’ ongoing growth.

Today, Lan-Com A/S imports network products from large-scale manufacturers around the world, building a significant stock and reselling predominantly to renowned installers across Denmark. With the core mission of selling high-quality products at competitive prices, the company focuses on timesaving products that are currently in high demand in Denmark due to the increasing cost of manpower.

“While Lan-Com’s competitors are selling ‘boxes’, Lan-Com A/S differentiates itself by selling products and know-how,” Flemming told us. “Highly specialised Lan-Com employees with more than 20 years of industry experience are there to advise and guide all customers, allowing them to offer the best solutions to the end-customer.”

In a saturated market, Lan-Com A/S’s direct competitors are large wholesales companies that sell a wide variety of electric products, from batteries to Aritox shoes. In comparison, Lan-Com A/S specialises in solely selling IT network products, which enables it to streamline its focus and follow each project from the design phase to system installation, testing, and certification.

This hyperfocus has made Lan-Com an invaluable partner to clients navigating large-scale projects such as office buildings, universities, and hospitals. Despite having only ten employees, the company is awarded many prestigious projects due to its reputation for delivering high-quality and reliable products at highly competitive price points.

Each of Lan-Com A/S’s highly in-demand products follow international standards, which can limit the company’s capacity to differentiate its range in the market. In spite of this, however, Lan-Com A/S has successfully developed a line of products that promise to save time for its clients and ensure project success.

“The newest product in Lan-Com A/S’s range is extremely timesaving,” announced Flemming. “It is Lan-Optic MPO Fiber Optic Cabling System, a predetermined system that means the installer does not need to splice and test. Now, fibre opting cabling is not only dedicated to fibre optic technicians; all installers can provide fibre optic cabling, even trainees. We call it ‘Plug and Play’ and the product does really live up to its name.”

Lan-Optic Cabling System is designed for environments where time, space, and operational stability are crucial. This includes data centres and service rooms, campus and commercial buildings, and critical infrastructure. The system is available in OM3 and OM4 multimode and features high port density with extremely compact MPO-LC cartridges, low attenuation, quick installation without the need for an external splicing team, guaranteed scalability, and resiliency on demand with MPO cables and additional LSZH sheaths supplied when requested.

The launch of the groundbreaking Lan-Optic system comes off the back of a successful period for Lan-Com, as the company experienced significant growth after introducing products geared towards the data centre industry. The company projects that the widespread adoption and subsequent increasing demand for AI will place significant pressure on data centres and expects to see big investment in that space.

At the same time, the Danish economy is currently very strong, with big investments being made from both the government and private sectors. In particular, the pharmaceutical market has become extremely attractive, with significant potential for future projects. These developments indicate a prosperous few years ahead for Lan-Com A/S, rivalling its previous success in 2025. We at EU Business News have no doubt that Lan-Com A/S will continue to excel at such a standard that has earned it recognition for Excellence in Structured and Fiber Optic Cabling Systems 2026 in Copenhagen.
