German Business Awards 2023

34. Sep23541 Based in the Bavarian city of Ingolstadt, FunArena Ingolstadt is the perfect indoor venue for fun, action, and excitement on a rainy day, catering to people of all ages. Whether you want to puzzle your way through a challenging escape room or experience an exhilarating adrenaline rush on the fast-paced go-karting track, this 5,000-square-metre leisure centre has everything you need for an action-packed day out. Here, we explore FunArena’s evolution since its inception in 2015. Whilst it now provides a wide range of entertainment options, FunArena was originally established as a go-karting track called KartArena. The venue was an immediate success and quickly became a magnet for thrill-seeking juniors and adults alike from across the region, including people celebrating birthdays, company events, and bachelor parties. However, it soon became apparent to FunArena’s management team that many visitors, especially those attending company events, were not as enthusiastic about motorsports as their colleagues. For this reason, it decided to create an escape room and a black light 3D minigolf course, providing additional entertainment options to its visitors. In 2018, FunArena launched two more escape rooms and invested in a new fleet of rental carts. Recognising the growing demand for its offerings, it launched a brand-new laser tag area with almost 1,000 square metres of playing space in 2019, enabling it to handle larger bookings. Having continued to expand and evolve throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, FunArena continues to thrive today, over eight years after its inception. What used to be a simple kart track has been transformed into a leisure destination that spans across 5,000 square metres of land, featuring a 400-metre gokarting track with 44 karts (racing karts, rental karts, junior karts, and doubleseater karts), two laser tag systems, six escape rooms, and a virtual reality area with four stations. Every year, FunArena welcomes approximately 90,000 visitors through its doors, with almost 1,000 new customers every month finding fun on its unrivalled go-karting track. The company’s excellent team, which has now grown to consist of over 40 people, work hard to ensure that even the most demanding of guests have the time of their lives. Each day, they demonstrate incredible Wide-Range Entertainment Provider of the Year 2023 enthusiasm and passion for their jobs as well as superlative team spirit. “We don’t just offer attractions for families, we want to be a family ourselves,” comments Operations Manager Stefan Zach, who has been part of the FunArena team since 2018. “Cohesion in the employee team is just as important to us as individuality! We stand together for our goals and practice our social skills. We are a team of loyal and enthusiastic people who stand for entrepreneurial stability and sustainable growth.” As a result of its vast range of entertainment options and the excellent service delivered by its team, FunArena has received a multitude of positive reviews on Google over the years, resulting in its impressive 4.7-star rating. For example, one satisfied customer describes their experience at FunArena, explaining, “Nice go-kart track with nice employees and good equipment. The employees are very nice and courteous and spread a good atmosphere. The explanations were very easy to understand even for me as a kart newbie. It was really fun to drive, the karts are in very good condition, and I always felt safe. After the race, a variety of analysis options are available. All lap times and position changes can be traced exactly in the app or as a printout. All in all, a great deal!” Considering this glowing praise, it is no surprise that FunArena Ingolstadt has been named Wide-Range Entertainment Provider of the Year in the German Business Awards 2023. On the future of the company, Stefan shares, “We will continue to keep a close eye on new trends in the future; virtual reality and escape games will certainly increase and alternative drive types such as electric motors, e-fuels, and hydrogen are likely to be of great relevance and innovative power in the karting sector.” Contact: Stefan Zach Company: KartArena Ingolstadt Betriebs Gmbh Web Address:
