The ease of getting to a property is often cited as a priority for would-be homeowners when buying a home overseas. This year, a number of airlines have made flying from the UK to France easier. For example:

  • In March, Air France doubled its offer of flights between Nice and London.
  • And in May, EasyJet announced that it is to add routes from Birmingham and Southend to Paris CDG.
  • This year, new flight routes from Belfast into Paris-Beauvais Airport were also revealed. And this summer, budget carrier Ryanair started new routes from Prestwick airport to Marseilles.

And train operator Renfe announced in June the launch of tickets sales for its high-speed rail services to Lyon and Marseille, stopping off at Avignon and Aix-en-Provence, and all the way to Madrid, making it easier for homeowners to travel between bigger French cities. And a new service connecting Edinburgh and Paris with an overnight, direct sleeper train, has been revealed most recently.

With this in mind, the buying agent Home Hunts has highlighted a few standout properties on sale for each area offering new flight routes/connections.

PARIS:
Apartment For Sale In Paris 16th (Trocadéro – Etoile – Passy) €1,850,000

NICE:

Villa/House For Sale In Nice – Mont Boron – €1,590,000

Speaking about the expansion of routes from the UK, enabling homeowners to fly and travel with ease to France, Tim Swannie, director of Home Hunts, said: “Flights have started to become very expensive over the past year or so, post Covid, but prices are starting to level out a little more now and many new routes are getting added from the UK and other destinations which is great news. The more routes available the merrier I say, so that our clients have more travel choices.

“Some of our clients drive down to France, others take the train, but the vast majority of our UK clients fly as it is usually the quickest and easiest way. The more options people have, the easier it becomes to come and see us, or visit their homes.”
