<p>Stephen Russell-Brett is a material-based contemporary artist exploring loss, memory, and ecological transformation through fragile, responsive surfaces. Working between Pretoria and Dublin, his practice forms part of Material Elegies, where vulnerable materials translate personal grief and environmental change into visual form. Through paper, photography, painting, and film, he approaches art as “documentation as lament,” where scientific record and lived experience converge.</p>
