Thomas kay creates unique furniture by carving it by hand out of large tree trunks.
‘curves & loops’ is a series of sculpted chairs that crosses the border of sculpture and functionality. the time consuming, archaic production method results in an attractive texture. coupled with the subtle use of colour, they both enhance the playful, streamlined designs. made to commission, these widely exhibited, award-winning one-off pieces are living, functional sculptures.
Another aspect of Thomas’ work is a series of paintings that is based on megalithic art (approx. 2500 BC) found in ireland.
